Chemical Decontamination & Decommissioning

The DDES team completed the chemical decontamination and decommissioning of research laboratories and associated surfaces for a client located in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  Under this scope, DDES assured that the removal of hazardous substances associated with tenant operations at the site may be reoccupied for office or laboratory use, demolished or renovated without incurring special costs or undertaking special procedures for disposal, investigation, assessment, cleaning or removal of hazardous substances.  DDES provided the framework for documenting the final state of the building which met the lease termination criteria for hazards by using the guidance of the American National Standard — Laboratory Decommissioning Standard (ANSI Z9.11–2008) and demonstrated that the facility occupied areas meet the lease termination obligations.
